Abstract:
The paper presents the results and the method of analysis for an attack-defense game involving allocation of resources. Each player is assumed to have several different types of resources to be divided in an optimal fashion among a fixed set of targets. The payoff function of the game is convex. The No Soft-Spot principle of M. Dresher, Games of Strategy Theory and Applications, Prentice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, 1961. The results quoted are slightly less general than those given in the original version. This deficiency is overcome to a certain extent by the inclusion of a second payoff function and a more realistic example.
