Numerical methods, on which two computer codes a TechOps two-dimensional hydrodynamic code and General Atomics OIL code designed to calculate axisymmetric, inviscid, compressible flow by direct application of conservation laws are based, are given difference equation formation. The difference equation formulations are compared to one another and to the partial differential equations of such flow. Sample calculations are compared with the analytical solutions of the differential equations. Author
