The object of the invention is a method of determining the distribution of electron density in a plasma by measuring the amplitude of a signal that has passed through it. The function of spacial distribution of electrons in a wide range of densities is determined by measuring the magnitude of damping of the amplitudes of microwave signals of several different frequencies that are selected so that at the moment a signal of one frequency is cut off the amplitude of one of the remaining signals experiences damping.
