An existing airborne installation is described and its potentialities are outlined. The particular properties of a jet aircraft movability, speed, altitude combined with appropriate ionospheric sounding equipment receivers, optical apparatus, magnetometer, and cosmic ray recorders constitute a unique capability. After reviewing past results obtained from more limited airborne equipment, an outline of operations and objectives is given, pertaining to Magnetic Shell Propagation, Arctic Radio Physics, Eclipse Effects, Dumping of Trapped Electrons, Equatorial Electrojet, Nuclear Detonation Effects, Ionospheric Drifts, Airglow and Cosmic Ray Surveys.
