Based on the experimental work described in the report, the following conclusions were reached Both glycinate and botyrate have serious limitations. The glycinate bath cannot even be considered because it did not produce an adherent coating. The butyrate bath produced a fine coating with excellent adhesion, but deteriorated rapidly. Resistance of the butyrate coating to corrosion by salt spray is comparable to that of a cyanide cadmium coating. Author
