Abstract:

For any positive integer n, this paper derives the explicit form of the identity in n matrices, each nxn, which is obtained by complete polarization of the usual CayleyHamilton theorem, and which is used repeatedly, for n 2 or 3, in the determination of an integrity basis for symmetric tensors.
