Effort was mainly devoted to the development of a Laboratory of Cybernetics within the Scuola di Perfezionamento in Fisica Teorica e Nucleare of the University of Naples. The laboratory was planned for experimental work connected with the development of cybernetic theories about the working of neuron assemblies. Specific projects include 1 how a timing mechanism in the cerebellum may be employed in the control of voluntary movements, 2 morphological observations on the optic tectum of teleosts, 3 attempts at a mathematical characterization of an area of undifferentiated cortex in man, and 4 measurements on dendrites of the cerebral cortex of Bos taurus.
