Abstract:

A review is presented of simple theoretical concepts and current experimental results on the properties of liquid helium-3 at low temperatures and low pressures. Some of the topics covered are the extent of experimental confirmation of Landaus theory of the Fermi Liquid the possible transition into a superfluid phase the observation of zero-sound and the importance, and present difficulties, in microscopic probing of the elementary excitations.
