Results of the experimental and analytical investigations on i Interaction of an advancing shock front and a starting vortex flow field, ii Interaction of an advancing shock front and a vortex street flow field and iii Interaction of a rectilinear circular vortex flow field with a progressing expansion wave, are summarized. The experimental phase of these investigations was conducted in a shock tube and the transient interaction data were recorded using spark shadowgraph, schlieren and interferometric techniques. The observed distortion of the advancing reflected shock front, the transmitted interacted vortex flow field and the characteristics of a growing acoustic wave front generated as a result of reflected shock-vortex interaction were recorded and analyzed. Theoretical analyses of a generation of sound front due to shock-vortex interaction b the non-steady interaction of a rectilinear circular flow field with an advancing expansion wave, were accomplished.
