The acquisition of timely meteorological data has a great bearing on the accuracy of placement of artillery rounds. This report describes the results of a program which was conducted by the Ballistic Research Laboratories BRL at the NASA Wallops Island facility to determine the feasibility of employing the standard 175 mm gun and a modified shell to obtain meteorological data quickly.
