Abstract:

Measurements were made on the longitudinal and transverse magnetoresistance of cobalt single crystals at 4.2 K. The principal changes due to the magnetic field are those of an ordinary metal plus effects peculiar to the magnetic state. In addition, Shubnikov-de Haas-like oscillations are observed in certain orientations. These are discussed as clues to the Fermi surface of cobalt. Authors
