A brief review is given of work on the development of methods for solving the equations of motion of magnetohydrodynamics, taking account of viscous effects. The case of an electrically conductive fluid in an external transverse magnetic field is investigated. When the external field is zero, the equations reduce to those of Navier-Stokes. Several checks to the accuracy of the solutions are considered. Author
