The report involves the development of circuit techniques for the frequency temperature compensation of three quartz crystal oscillator groups, defined by specific frequency temperature stability characteristics by Electronics Command Requirement SCL-6657 dated October 1964. Three computer programming approaches which have been investigated as part of the effort to develop more accurate compensation techniques with a minimum effort are discussed. This effort will ultimately result in the precise selection of network values along any ten points of a frequency-temperature curve. The preliminary design of the Group II oscillators is discussed in detail. It is anticipated that this circuit will serve as the basic design for the Group III and Group IV oscillators to be built under this program. An investigation of the effects of frequency adjustment on frequency stability has been conducted during this past quarterly period and is covered in this report.
