Abstract:

The work was undertaken to ascertain on what basis do the animals know that after the equinox of September the sun begins to culminate in the South, that is, at midday its azimuth is exactly that of the Theoretical Line of Escape TLE. Results demonstrated that a population with TLE south, in clockwise phase, compensates perfectly for the apparent clockwise motion, while in a population with TLE north, the compensation is imperfect and distrubed. It seems probable that in the populations precisely subequatorial, the affirmed and valid compensation mechanism differs according to the TLE. Author
