Abstract:

The investigations carried out showed that the best allowing elements from the point of view of raising the modulus of elasticity of titanium are Al, Cr, Mo, and Re. In this situation the concentration of the alloying elements should not exceed their solubility in the alpha phase. Lanthanum and tellurium, which lower the modulus of elasticity of titanium, noticeably increases its plasticity at low temperatures the relative lengthening at -196 amounts to 35 - 40, whereas with pure titanium, it does not go higher than 27.
