Abstract:
A new method of blood dilution for the enumeration of thrombocytes has been compared with an older, conventional method of blood dilution. The new Unopette system produces lower but more consistent values than the conventional system. Fluctuation in the platelet level of any one sample over an 8-hour period was less marked for the Unopette method of blood dilution than with the standard method. It appears, therefore, that the Unopette system allows for an accurate and reproducible dilution technique. Author
