Abstract:
The azimuthal asymmetry in pion photoproduction by linearly polarized bremsstrahlung was measured at photon energies from 475 to 750 MeV at 90 and 135 degrees in the center of mass system. The experimental results show that even in this energy region pion are predominantly produced in the plane of the magnetic vector. This is interpreted to mean that S and P wave amplitudes are predominating over the D wave amplitude. Author
