Abstract:

Magnetohydrodynamic MHD power generation has been shown theoretically to be attractive when the amplitude of oscillation is 50 or greater. The mean conductivity is increased by approximately one and a half times. To substantiate this theoretical analysis an experimental rig was designed and constructed. This comprises of a gaseous Hydrogen-Air rocket motor where the air is introduced tangentially and the fuel is introduced either longitudinally or tangentially. Combustion oscillations were produced.
