Abstract:

Rocket probe experiments designed to measure and map apparent spectral radiance of terrestrial highaltitude clouds from space 83 kilometers peak altitude are reported. Measurement technique, experimental design and quantitative infrared data in five narrow regions of the spectrum from 1.9 to 6.7 microns are presented. Terrestrial spectral radiance maps obtained at 2.2, 2.7, 4.3, and 6.7 microns and typical radiance contour maps are also presented. Author
