Abstract:

The magnetic dipole moments of odd-mass nuclei are calculated and compared to the experimental data for nuclei with particles in the 28-126 shells, except for the deformed region of 150 or A or 190. The wave functions upon which the calculation is based are admixtures of seniority-one wave functions produced by a pairing interaction and obtained by projecting eigenfunctions of the number operator out of Bardeen-type wave functions.
