It has been shown that if the protons are regarded as distinguishable particles the asymptotic form of the cross section for H H1s to H1s H in the nonrelativistic First Born and distorted wave approximations is Q1s-1s 2Mpia-squared 3m E-cubed, where E is the energy of the incident proton in atomic units, M is its mass and m is the mass of the electron. A simple classical treatment of this problem is given.
