Abstract:

A new system for measuring thermal conductivity at high temperatures is described in detail. The system is based on the Unmatched Guard Method and forms a limiting case of it. The system is easy to assemble and to operate it has a fast thermal response, and gives results with an uncertainty of only 2.3, and an imprecision of 1.5. Results obtained with the new system on Inconel 702 agree very well with previous work. Author
