The feasibility of a plan for the removal of the ice cover of the northern Arctic Ocean is discussed. The plan involves the construction of a dam across the Bering Straits and transferring 150,000 cubic kmyear of water from the northern Arctic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean and an inflow of the Atlantic Ocean into the northern Arctic Ocean.
