Abstract:

The measurement of phase and amplitude radio wave interaction, to be carried out during the IQSY, comprises the contents of this report. The interaction parameters, T sub A and T sub phi are given as a function of height for the dates and times indicated. These will be utilized to determine N, upsilon, T sub e and G as functions of height and time for D and lower E-region during the IQSY and will be reported in following reports. The measurement of phase and amplitude radio wave interaction described in this report was made under the IQSY program supported mainly by the National Science Foundation, Grant GP-846. It should also be acknowledged that a portion of the experimental facilities was provided by the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, Office of Aerospace Research, United States Air Force, Bedford, Massachusetts under Contract AF19628-4014.
