Abstract:

The Ritz Method is used to determine the vibration characteristics of cantilever plates which represent idealized low aspect ratio missile fins. Natural frequencies and modes are determined for rectangular cantilever plates with cantilever span to breadth ratios of 12, 1, 2 and 5, and for skew cantilever plates with sides of equal length and skew angles of 15, 30 and 45 degrees.
