Abstract:

A Transfer Function Coefficient Analyzer is a digital computer, that is preprogrammed so that it can accept discrete data from input and output of a transfer function and compute the coefficients thereof. The basic program consists of a Least Squares Method, that reduces an over determined set of simultaneous equations, developed by Z-transform, to the normal equations and a program that solves the normal equations for the coefficients of the transfer functions. In real cases, noise will be superimposed on the data, and will reduce the accuracy. Suitable filtering or smoothing of input and output data is necessary prior to application of the Least Squares Method. Programs for filter equations are built-in, the coefficients of which are subject of consideration in this report. Author
