Abstract:

An interferometer for use in plasma diagnostics is described. A single klystron provides both the transmitter power and the local oscillator signal for a heterodyne receiver. The heterodyne receiver provides a greatly reduced noise figure, and the output signal is independent of the amplitude of the received signal.
