Abstract:
Albumin and beta globulin transferrin were present and easily extracted from fresh human bone and dentin chips. Other normal blood proteins were absent. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid EDTA removed additionally 1 mucopolysaccharide and 3 protein fractions. These components were considered indigenous to the calcified tissues. Collagen or collagen-like organic matrices are freed of extraneous proteins during demineralization with EDTA. Author
