Abstract:

Formulas are presented for obtaining the standard deviation in components of the position and velocity vectors relative to a coordinate system O when a set of position and velocity components are known relative to a coordinate system O assuming standard deviations in the components of vector r relative to O are known. When the origins of O and O coincide, the results can apply to rotated coordinate systems.
