A study was made to develop a high order of professional competence in the field of sampled-data control systems employing general-purpose digital computers. Digital computer programs were derived based on analytical studies per formed using z-transforms and z-plane root loci to produce specified responses of a plant to standard step and ramp function test inputs. Tests were conducted that verified the fundamental theory of sampled-data control techniques. Plans for future work are outlined. Author
