Abstract:

The station-induced non-random errors in range, azimuth, and elevation which contribute to their residuals are of two types. The first are those associated with the equipment wherein the only non-random error here appears as a bias term. For example, in the case of range, this bias may be due to a poor range zero calibration. However, this analysis is not primarily concerned with these equipment errors, but rather with the second group of errors, which are associated with the misidentification of the origin and orientation of the reference frame.
