Abstract:
The book is made up of an introduction and nine parts. The introduction contains a review of the types of aviation engines and the regions of their application, including short expositions of the schematic and design layouts of gas-turbine engines certain fundamental concepts and definitions necessary for subsequent study of the design of the engines are given values of the fundamental parameters of the gas turbine engines are presented, as is a basic review of their design and development. The first, second, and third parts describe in succession the construction of the air-flow parts of the engines. Parts four and five consider the power systems of gas-turbine engines, the transmission elements, bearings, and lubrication systems basic data on the critical speeds of rotation of rotors are also presented. The sixth part is devoted to specific units of the turboprop engine-the hub of the propeller and the reduction gear. The seventh part contains material on the construction of fuel pumps and atomizers, and their operation. Basic data on systems for automatic control of gas-turbine engines is presented in the eighth part. Finally, the ninth part is devoted to starting systems for gas-turbine engines.
