Abstract:

Specimens of cast gold alloy were subjected to various methods of heat treatment, to determine the effects upon microstructure and hardness. Hardness of the heattreated specimens was determined with a Tukon tester, using a Knoop indenter. Variations in microstructure were studied by metallographic and photomicrographic examinations. Measurements were made of the temperature generated during grinding and polishing of cast gold. Author
