The work consisted of cathodic protection studies, anodic polarization measurements, and an evaluation of the stress corrosion performance of the various samples of 2024 and 7075 alloy plate that were prepared to reflect a range of susceptibility to stress corrosion. A metallographic examina tion of these samples with the electron microscope using the thin foil transmission technique and with the light microscope is described and finally, the measurement of magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity is discussed.
