Abstract:
The specific objectives of the program include evaluation of existing samples design and evaluation of improved modules investigation of low-work-function collectors investigation of high-temperature collector operation and investigation of the effects of inert gas injection. The first three months of work covered the analysis of prior failures See AD-436 806, a continuation of life testing to more than 4300 hours, and the initial design for an improved module. A control standard converter was fabricated for the investigation of low-workfunction collectors. One sample collector material was evaluated. A converter design, A-1195, was modified for high-temperature operation, and one converter employing a molybdenum emitter and molybdenum collector was fabricated. Author
