Abstract:
Adsorption experiments with GA-agent on activated carbon were completed at 30 and 45C in the 2-500 microgram per liter concentration range. The data were expressed in the form of Langmuir type adsorption isotherms. The adsorption of GA-agent on activated carbon is less than monomolecular. The effect of water vapor on the adsorbed quantities of GA agent was found to be negligible up to a 85 relative humidity, a slight reduction of adsorptive capacity of 5-25 occurs at humidities exceeding 85 relative humidity. The desorption rate of adsorbed agent was extremely low. A simplified method was developed to correlate the experimental data on capillary penetration and retentive capacity of liquids in sorbent beds. A correlation between the sorption rate and capacity was developed. Measurements of the sorption of GF-agent and GB-agents are being conducted. Author
