Abstract:
The effect of transverse curvature on the compressible laminar boundary layer flow over slender axisymmetric powerlaw bodies is investigated, employing the momentum integral technique. Pressure gradients are neglected and the body surface is assumed to be insulated. Asymptotic solutions for the skin friction coefficient are derived in the regimes of weak and strong curvature effects. A numerical integration, covering the entire range of curvature effects, was carried out for the cone. Author
