Abstract:

The results of a program to study, evaluate and recommend the most feasible techniques and equipment for an air launched rocket sounding system compatible with the ANAMQ-19 Meteorological system are presented in this report. The purpose of the rocketsounding system is to extend the meteorological data envelope to an altitude of 120,000 feet and to provide a growth capability for future expansion to 250,000 and the area between 400,000 and 600,000 feet.
