The objective is to prove conclusively the concept of digital map compilation. The system consists of a photodigitizer unit for scanning and digitizing a pair of stereo aerial diapositives, specially written computer programs for use on an IBM 70907094 Computer to perform rectification, correlation, and ortho-correction on the digital photo data, and a photomap printer unit for printing the rectified photo and orthophotomap with or without contour and grid tic information.
