Abstract:
Emission spectra have been obtained from numerous inorganic nitrogen, phosphorous and sulphur compounds. Emission from P-O bands was recorded for all the phosphorous compounds except Na2PO4 and AlPO4. Neither of these compounds appeared to sputter under the experimental condition. The emission spectrum obtained when sulphur or nitrogen compounds were loaded into the light source was that of N2 or air. This indicated an air leakage in the hollow cathode. Intense absorption by NO2 of some of the N2 emission lines was recorded. Author
