Abstract:

This thesis represents the beginning of a project that will study the behavior of emerging nation - states. The project purposes to reason by induction and analogy from the individual to the nation by aggregating individual needs, abilities, knowledge and decision rules in much the same manner that economists move from the micro-economics. This thesis reports the work to date. It consists of a description of a simple aspiration model of man in an environment barren of all social interactions. The thesis represents mans efforts to utilize his environment to provide the essentials to utilize his environment to provide the essentials for survival by modeling the interface between man and the environment in terms of mans needs, abilities, knowledge, and decision rules.
