Manned satellite experiments presently under consideration include the problem of autonomous determination and subsequent correction or orbital position by a crew member. The study of this problem includes two principal areas, namely the type of equipment to be used by the crew i.e., the types of measurements to be taken, and the errors associated with a particular instrumentation set. These errors can be categorized as errors arising from the instruments themselves, and errors arising from assuming a force model not identical to the one in which the measurements are made. The study of force model error with an instrumentation set including a pointing and tracking scope, an inertial reference package, and a star tracker is the subject of this report. Author
