Abstract:
Methods for improving the representations of the thermodynamic properties of air are discussed. These methods include a data-fitting procedure which is applicable below 15,000 K and a general method for calculating dominant level populations in the ionic region. Detailed descriptions of frequency-dependent air absorption coefficients are presented in graphical form. Computer programs are described which calculate air absorption coefficients and which prepare the information in a form suitable for the numerical description of fireball growth. Author
