A breadboard model of a bandpass filter whose center frequency is electronically tunable over the range of 3-30 mc was fabricated to demonstrate the practical feasibility of using the unique characteristics of nuclear magnetic resonance NMR as a bandpass filter. The advantages to be gained from such electronically controllable center frequency and bandwidth, excellent selectivity, superior isolation between input and output circuits, extremely long phase-and-frequency coherent memory characteristic.
