Techniques for producing low-cost, high efficiency, silicon web dendrite solar cells on an unbalanced pilot line are reported. Silicon dendritic web 0.5 x 12 in. having thickness, resistivity, and crystal properties for device objectives was produced. Silicon dendritic web N-on-P solar cells 1.27 x 30.5 cm were fabricated during the pilot run. Processes were designed to assure a yield of 75 of 9 minimum efficient cells. The distribution of yield based on solar cell efficiency was or 9, 100 or 10, 68 and or 11, 18. The overall physical yield was 78 during the operation of the unbalanced pilot line. Author
