Abstract:
Single and polycrystalline TiO2 Rutile membrane experiments were performed using two different partial pressures of O2 at temperatures from 900 C to 1200 C. Crystalline regrowth on the high partial pressure O2 surface under a variety of conditions is convincing proof of the existence of the titanium interstitials. Diffusion tunneling of dislocations occurred in the single crystal experiments. Purification of the single crystals of foreign impurities Fc, Ag, and Mg occurred. The regrowth of the polycrystalline sample approached 100 theoretical density. The general determination of nonstoichiometric defects and endotoxial crystal growth is considered theoretically. Author
