Abstract:

The current study was started by a detailed scrutiny of a single vehicle, its physical description, the tests to which it was subjected, the uses to which it was put, its performance record, and the predictability of its behavior in the light of the current theories of ground mobility. This led to the examination of the following 1 The complete performance record of a typical vehicle. The M113 Armored Personnel Carrier was selected, largely because its extreme popularity assured its wide use and complete documentation. Twenty four documents pertaining to its mobility are on file. 2 The nature of a typical ground vehicle field trial testing. The most extensive field trial so far conducted, Swamp Fox II, was the field trial selected. Author
