Abstract:

Current status of the investigation of the applicability of perceptrons and related cognitive systems to automation of certain parts of the photo interpretation task is reported. A system block diagram is detailed and the individual components are discussed. Pictorial examples, showing how several of the pre-processing subtasks can be accomplished, are included. Plans for an initial general-purpose-computer implementation of a basic system and a suggested program leading to an engineering prototype complete the report. Author
