A radio-tracer technique was used in determining the percentage of heptane removal from propellant manufactured by the inert-diluent process. The feasibility of the use of a vacuum chamber, sonic generator, or hot air for the removal of the carrier was studied in single-pass and recycling systems. The heptane contents could be reduced to 5 with hot air and the remaining percentage could be removed by the application of vacuum. Author
