Abstract:

Preparation or synthetic studies have been carried out on tetrafluoroisophthalic acid, difluoropyromellitic acid, the tetrafluorophenylene diamines, decafluorodiphenylamine, 3,3,4,4-tetra substituted- hexafluorobiphenyls, tetrafluororesorcinol, perfluoroaromatic thioethers, and dithiols. These and other perfluorinated aromatic compounds are the intermediates employed in the synthesis of perfluorinated model compounds and polymers.
